Q: What does the name Show Champa mean?
A: It means nothing. Just a band name, and that's it.

Q: How did the guys meet?
A: Long story short: Preben and Torstein started playing together. They needed a drummer, and knew from high school that Kasper was a decent one. They asked if he wanted to join them in a jam session, and Kasper was in. Some weeks later they were asked to play in a private birthday party, and needed a singer. Preben's brother Liam used to sing, so they asked him. Liam was in. A good friend of the guys was playing bass at the party, but he wanted to play with another band. Kasper knew Kjetil, and wanted him to join as a vibraphonist/percussionist. Kjetil was in. Kjetil and Kasper knew Jon's older brother, and asked if Jon wanted to play bass. Jon was in. During the summer of 2011, Kjetil quit. Kjetil was out.

Q: Where are you from?
A: Everyone in the band is from the Grenland area in Telemark, Norway, a two hour drive from capital Oslo.

Q: Do you write all songs yourselves?
A: Yes. You might hear a cover song on a show, but basically we write our own songs.

Q: Who writes the songs?
A: All five. Often one of the guys comes up with an idea, and the rest of the band join in to develop it.

Q: Who inspires you?
A: Bands such as Coldplay, BigBang, Vampire Weekend and Local Natives are huge inspirations.

Q: Why English? You're a Norwegian band, ain't you?
A: Yes, we are. Still, we dream about making our music known outside of Norway, and we hope that the big guys will visit our web site some day. Most of our Facebook updates is in Norwegian, though.

Q: Is Show Champa a Christian band?
A: Bands ain't Christians. People might be. As for Show Champa, some of us believe. Some of us don't.

Q: When is your debut album to be released?
A: When we have the money to record it. We made an EP in the spring of 2011, but we honestly think we got material for a full length album.

Q: Is it true you've played with BigBang?
A: Yes. We did a warm up for BigBang at the same time as the band reached # 01 in the official Norwegian charts with their Epic Scrap Metal album, in March 2011.

Q: Is anyone in the band gay?
A: No.

Q: Is the latter question a frequently asked question?
A: No.
